Yardart Ceramics was created because the sculptor, Leon, was motivated to create plaques as his main focus. Currently, there seems to be no sculptors who are interested in producing plaques for wall decoration in architecture or elsewhere.

It would seem that USA has seen their artists, particularly on the West Coast, creating "YardArt" for their clients that include mandalas, plaques, free-standing sculptures, in gardens, patios and outdoor-indoor spaces.

Australia has a water problem where gardens as we know them, may not be viable, and so ceramic sculpture could be an alternative for enhancement of outdoor sites. Our ceramic sculptures are designed for garden and outdoor areas to be a focal point of the art of the garden.

Many sculptures are framed for display on courtyard walls and some sculptures are free standing. All tiles are glazed and clear epoxy background ensures the longevity of the sculpture.
